Job summary

Lutheran Health Network seeks an Environmental Services Worker II to maintain a clean, safe hospital environment in Indiana. You will perform floor care, waste disposal, linen handling, and room cleaning in line with infection control standards.

Responsibilities include spill response, equipment movement, supply monitoring, and accurate task documentation. Candidates should have 1–3 years in environmental services or related fields and strong teamwork and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of standard cleaning procedures, chemicals, and floor care techniques.
• Ability to safely handle biohazardous and infectious waste per infection control standards.
• Familiarity with equipment cleaning, maintenance, and proper usage.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow cleaning schedules.
• Knowledge of hospital policies, regulatory standards, and safety procedures for environmental services.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
• Good communication skills with staff, patients, and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Performs floor care tasks (sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, waxing) to maintain cleanliness and safety.
• Collects, removes, and disposes of waste following hospital policies and guidelines.
• Handles soiled linens and replaces them with clean bags.
• Cleans and sanitizes patient rooms, restrooms, hallways, offices, and common areas per infection control standards.
• Responds to spills and contamination cleanups with proper disinfection and safety precautions.
• Moves furniture, floor mats, and equipment for cleaning or department relocations.
• Monitors cleaning supplies and stores them safely while controlling usage.
• Communicates maintenance and repair needs to supervisor for timely resolution.
• Maintains accurate cleaning logs and reports of completed tasks.
