Job summary

Independence Health System is seeking a compassionate Hospital Housekeeper to maintain clean, sanitary patient rooms, public areas and ancillary spaces. You will follow department procedures, handle waste and supplies, and assist with equipment care on a rotating day schedule.

The role requires strong organizational skills, ability to multitask, and excellent customer service to patients, visitors and staff. This position is on-site with rotating shifts and no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Good organizational skills, independent thinking and sound judgment.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments.
• Excellent communication and customer services skills.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and services any assigned hospital area/facility.
• Performs routine cleaning requests from customers within departmental duties.
• Performs daily clean-up and care of equipment and materials, etc.
• Meets hospital's established standards of cleanliness.
• Utilizes department established work patterns and cleaning steps.
• Collects and transports regulated and non-regulated waste, soiled linens, or materials to designated locations in a manner described in department procedure and per regulatory guidelines.
