Job summary

Baraga County Memorial Hospital is seeking a Housekeeper to clean and service all hospital areas, ensuring a neat, sanitary environment in accordance with BCMH policies.

The role requires operating cleaning machinery, following instructions, and maintaining infection control standards. Applicants must be 18+, have a valid driver’s license or reliable transportation, and participate in required trainings and shifts.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Able to use common cleaning devices and products to keep areas clean.
• Able to operate and care for equipment such as stripper, scrubber, waxer and buffer.
• Able to follow written and oral instructions concerning cleaning solutions and disinfectants.
• Must have a valid driver’s license or reliable transportation.
• Complies with HIPAA and BCMH policies and reporting.
• Maintains infection control and safety standards in all tasks.

Responsibilities

• Clean and service all hospital areas to keep the facility neat, orderly and sanitary.
• Clean beds at patient discharges.
• Vacuum carpets; wash walls and ceilings.
• Clean windows, mirrors, shades, fixtures and door glass; change curtains when needed.
• Dispose of waste correctly and reliner trash cans.
• Strip, scrub, wax and buff floors as directed.
• Report equipment malfunctions to the supervisor.
• Attend trainings and fulfill assigned duties and shifts.
