Job summary

Nemaha Valley Community Hospital in Seneca, KS is seeking an EVS Technician to perform general cleaning and sanitation across hospital and clinic areas, following regulatory standards and isolation procedures when required.

The role includes operating floor care, trash disposal, replenishing supplies, laundry tasks as assigned, and participation in educational programs. On-call shifts may be required to meet patient and facility needs.

Qualifications

• Experience: Relevant previous experience preferred but on-the-job training provided.
• Education: High School or equivalent.
• Req. Cert. / Registration: None required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate correct use of chemicals, supplies and tools after training.
• Perform cleaning functions in assigned areas following schedules and using prescribed methods.
• Clean and sanitize all surfaces in assigned areas.
• Dust mops and wet mops hard surface floors.
• Vacuum carpet areas.
• Dust and clean tops of windows, door frames, lights, vents and other high areas; use ladder if necessary.
• Clean bathroom and utility room fixtures.
• Clean windows and mirrors as needed.
• Gather and dispose of trash and waste in proper bags and containers.
• Clean fans and other equipment as needed.
• Perform terminal cleaning of patient rooms and prepare room for new occupant; follow isolation procedures when required.
• Replenish rooms with supplies by refilling paper towels and soap dispensers; replace sharps containers when full.
• Move heavy furniture and equipment as required to perform cleaning duties.
• Perform duties in the laundry department when assigned.
• Keep housekeeping equipment and tools clean and report repairs or damage to maintenance staff.
• Participate in educational programs and in-service meetings; attend other required meetings.
• Be willing to work on-call when necessary by immediate need.
• Perform any additional tasks which may be assigned.
