Job summary

UHC United Hospital Center in Elkins, West Virginia, is seeking an Environmental Services team member to help keep patient areas, exam rooms, and public spaces clean and orderly. You will follow established procedures, remove trash, replenish supplies, and support bed making and equipment maintenance.

The role requires physical endurance, ability to work varied shifts, and the capacity to read and follow written work assignments.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to be scheduled for work based on hospital needs.
• Ability to interact tactfully with guests.
• Ability to read and follow written work assignments.

Responsibilities

• Inspects and ensures that all assigned areas are properly cleaned and in good repair; report problems to the supervisor.
• Cleans all assigned areas, including patient rooms, exam rooms, public areas, toilets, procedure rooms, OR rooms, offices and equipment, following established procedures.
• Removes trash from all assigned areas.
• Replenishes paper towels, toilet paper, and soap in all locations of assigned areas to assure adequate supply.
• Makes beds, following established cleaning procedures in all patient discharge rooms and on-call rooms as assigned.
• Maintains assigned equipment in clean, working condition, reporting problems and suggestions to the supervisor.
• Moves equipment, furniture, boxes, wash walls, spot carpets, etc. as assigned.
• Follows all safety and sanitation regulations.
