Job summary

DCH Health System in Alabama is seeking a detail-oriented environmental services/housekeeping employee to clean and service patient care areas following established procedures and schedules. Responsibilities include daily cleaning of patient rooms, dusting, mopping, waste removal, operating cleaning equipment, and maintaining medication storage areas when required.

Training new hires is also part of the role.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Must read, write, speak and understand English.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Clean and service assigned areas according to procedures.
• Dust, damp mop, vacuum floors and clean carpets.
• Collect waste and maintain waste receptacles.
• Operate cleaning equipment (buffers, wringers, scrubbers, vacuums).
• Report broken furniture or equipment to supervisors.
• Maintain medication storage areas when required.
• Provide training to new hires.
