Job summary

CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs is seeking an Environmental Services Technician to keep patient rooms and hospital areas clean and sanitized, protecting patients and staff from infectious diseases.

You will perform routine cleaning, use specialized equipment, and follow disposal procedures for biohazard materials. Responsibilities include maintaining cleaning carts and supplies, adhering to safety and infection control guidelines, and supporting department initiatives to improve patient experience

Qualifications

• None, upon hire
• Preferred: High School Graduate General Studies and Previous healthcare experience., upon hire
• High School GED General Studies and Previous healthcare experience., upon hire

Responsibilities

• Complete daily occupied and discharge/transfer cleaning and disinfection of patient care areas, equipment, and other common areas. Demonstrates working knowledge of healthcare cleaning and disinfection principles and requirements.
• Maintain cleaning carts, supplies, and equipment; remove waste and transport to proper disposal areas while identifying proper waste streams per procedures and regulations.
• Follow infection prevention practices, including proper cleaning/disinfection protocols, hand hygiene, isolation precautions, and PPE donning/doffing; protect patient privacy (HIPAA).
• Operate and maintain EVS tools and equipment; support facility needs such as conference room set ups, stairwells, elevators, curtain hanging; mentor new Environmental Services staff.
