Job summary

Brown University Health is seeking an Environmental Services Supervisor to guide a team of Aides and Laundry Aides. The role ensures a clean hospital environment and oversees daily operations, payroll, and discipline as needed.

The incumbent will rotate duties across facilities, perform quality checks, manage supplies, and supervise staff to meet policy and safety standards. This on-site position follows day shifts and requires a reliable driving record.

Qualifications

• High School level education with ability to perform basic numerical calculations.
• Experience coordinating and directing activities of a small group of personnel.
• Knowledge of department functions and policies.

Responsibilities

• Assists with training and orientation of new employees and provides day-to-day guidelines.
• Assists with work problems, counsels, disciplines verbally, may suspend employees for the shift.
• Prepares daily payroll, vacation and holiday schedules and maintains attendance reports.
• Oversees operation when supervisors are absent and rotates duties as needed.
• Maintains supplies and notifies for requisitions; performs quality checks and safety compliance.
• Performs duties of aides including laundry and housekeeping tasks as required.
