Job summary

Wellstar Health System is seeking a dedicated Environmental Services Technician to perform the full range of cleaning responsibilities in hospital settings, including patient rooms, OR suites and laboratory areas, following established cleaning protocols.

Responsibilities include waste handling, PPE usage, chemical safety, linen management, and maintaining a safe, welcoming environment for patients, families and staff; strong English communication is required.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write and understand simple instructions in English.
• Completion of Departmental Training Program within 30 days of employment.
• Some experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs restroom and patient room cleaning following hospital protocols.
• Handles waste streams including solid, biohazard, chemotherapy, and pharmaceutical waste.
• Operates Ultra Violet Light devices and uses PPE correctly.
• Maintains cleanliness of walls, doors, windows, floors and equipment.
• Documents daily assignments and uses Epic to log beds and patients.
• Complies with Wellstar Health System policies and code of conduct.
