Job summary

UAB Medical West Hospital is seeking an Electrical and Maintenance Tech to repair and maintain electrical systems across the hospital, POB, and clinics. You will troubleshoot, inspect, and service lighting, outlets, switches, and generators while maintaining preventative maintenance records.

The role requires knowledge of electrical codes and safety regulations, and preferred candidates may have healthcare experience and an electrical apprenticeship.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
• At least five years related experience and/or training.
• Preferred: healthcare experience.
• Completion of an electrical apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
• Familiarity with electrical codes and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections and maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues and implement effective solutions promptly.
• Assist in installation of new electrical systems and equipment as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs.
• Collaborate with team to ensure safety compliance.
