Job summary

Brigham and Women's Hospital seeks an EH&S leader reporting to the Director of Environmental Health and Safety. You will guide the department's portfolio to align with hospital priorities and maintain regulatory readiness.

You will oversee daily operations of the physical environment of care, fire and life safety, hazardous materials handling, and related programs across all facilities; you will develop policies and coordinate staff.

Qualifications

• Must have strong experience leading EH&S programs in a hospital or similar setting.
• Experience with fire protection, chemical safety, and environmental compliance.
• Regulatory knowledge including Joint Commission standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of EH&S programs across all BWH facilities.
• Develop policies and procedures for EH&S applications.
• Coordinate staffing, scheduling, and timekeeping for EH&S staff.
• Promote safety through audits, trainings, and program planning.
• Interface with local fire departments and oversee inspections.
• Ensure investigations for safety events and regulatory compliance.
• Lead Joint Commission readiness and annual reporting.
• Maintain data tracking for safety and quality improvement.
