Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Coordinator to support safety programs across hospital environments. You will collaborate with leaders and staff to advance regulatory compliance and emergency preparedness, ensuring a safe setting for patients, visitors, and teams.

The role requires experience with hospital safety, risk assessment, and life safety, plus strong communication and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 4 years of work experience above the minimum qualification.
• 1 year of experience.
• Experience with hospital physical environment, facility safety, and emergency management programs.

Responsibilities

• Support EH&S programs at assigned hospitals to promote alignment with priorities and regulatory requirements.
• Assist in Life Safety and Physical Environment portions of The Joint Commission survey process for accreditation/licensing.
• Identify risks and implement corrective actions for fire safety and NFPA standards compliance.
• Support OSHA compliance, risk management, and injury prevention in EH&S activities.
• Assist hospital emergency management programs including disaster response and evacuation protocols.
• Monitor environmental and life safety compliance in construction/renovation projects per ILMS, infection control requirements, and permits.
• Assist with hazardous materials management, chemicals, and waste per OSHA standards, including testing and record-keeping.
• Facilitate and coordinate safety training programs for hospital staff.
