Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is hiring an Environmental Health & Safety professional to provide oversight of EH&S, Life Safety and Emergency Management within assigned healthcare facilities. The role partners with hospital leaders to maintain a safe environment and ensure regulatory compliance across programs.

The ideal candidate will have a hospital/acute-care background with strengths in healthcare safety, regulatory compliance and collaboration across clinical, operational and leadership teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience in lieu of a degree.
• Minimum 2 years in a hospital or acute-care setting.
• Experience in EH&S, Life Safety, emergency management or regulatory compliance.
• Ability to interpret policies and apply requirements in a healthcare environment.
• Strong collaboration across clinical, operational and leadership teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee EH&S, Life Safety and Emergency Management programs in facilities.
• Identify, assess and reduce environmental health and safety risks with leaders.
• Coordinate safety meetings, assessments, inspections and corrective actions.
• Monitor compliance with federal/state/local requirements and accreditation standards.
• Review incident data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Support construction, renovations and life safety considerations.
• Develop and maintain emergency operations plans and preparedness activities.
• Provide guidance on EH&S matters to hospital departments and clinics.
• Assist with hazardous materials management and incident response activities.
• Collaborate across departments to address findings and drive improvement.
