Job summary

Cygnet Hospital Colchester is seeking an experienced Hospital Manager to lead day-to-day operations and strategic direction. You will oversee clinical quality, regulatory compliance, workforce performance and service development, guiding multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, compassionate care.

Reporting to the Operations Director, you will manage budgets, governance and relationships with regulators while shaping the hospital's culture and driving continuous improvement across services.

Qualifications

• Significant leadership experience in a healthcare setting.
• Strong knowledge of hospital operations, governance and regulatory requirements.
• Experience managing budgets, staffing and service delivery.
• Understanding of Mental Health Act or relevant care standards.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and drive improvement.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall day-to-day management and strategic direction for the hospital.
• Ensure clinical quality, regulatory compliance, workforce performance and service development are central.
• Lead on governance, risk management and safeguarding practices.
• Oversee budget, staffing, contracts, and performance against KPIs.
