Responsibilities include loading trays, delivering nourishments, and assisting in tube feedings or special dietary needs as directed by the lead diet aide and supervisor. Strong reading and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Ability to read English and follow verbal instructions.
• Ability to read and write at Level 3 as documented on Invest, the hospital's Employee Learning Laboratory software.
• Effective communication with patient trays and for all contacts in the hospital.

Responsibilities

• Passes menus to patients according to name and room number.
• Portions food for tray line.
• Stocks and restocks tray line stations with food supplies.
• Serves tray line station at mealtime.
• Assists in loading trays onto meal trucks.
• Prepares and delivers patient between-meal nourishments for hospital units.
• Inventories par stock for designated nursing units.
• Delivers late trays to patients.
• Retrieves trays from patient care area.
• Cleans and sanitizes assigned work area.
• Resets tray line for next meal.
• Works to improve total quality of the department and other departments.
