Job summary

St. David’s Medical Center is seeking a Diet Tech to manage patient diet orders and meal preparation. The role focuses on accurate data entry in Meditech and Computrition, coordinating with nursing and nutrition staff, and ensuring timely tray assembly.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year in a healthcare setting, a High School diploma or equivalent (Associates preferred), and a Food Handler Certification. This full-time position is based in Austin, TX.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting as a Diet Technician
• High School Graduate/Equivalent or 5 years dietary experience in lieu of diploma/GED
• Associates degree in Nutrition preferred
• Food Handler Certification required

Responsibilities

• Maintain current patient diet information
• Enter and verify diet orders in hospital computer systems
• Prepare and post patient menus and diet trays
• Coordinate with nursing and dietitians on nutrition education or tube feeding substitutions
• Ensure all tray tickets meet diet orders and special diet needs
• Maintain neat, organized diet office and assist with call center tasks
• Communicate findings and issues to supervisor and food service staff
