Job summary

The University of California, Irvine seeks a detail-oriented Dietary Assistant to support patient meal preparation by processing diet orders in hospital systems and ensuring timely delivery.

You will enter tube feeding products in Mass Cash POS, assist patients by phone, update diet changes, and perform daily stocking while maintaining strong communication across the health system.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in an administrative or clerical position.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Education or experience in nutrition or dietary requirements.
• Computer experience to include financial management software.
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.

• Visit or call patients requiring menu-assistance and perform daily floor stocking duties.

Your Role on the Team Position Summary:

What It Takes to be Successful Required Qualifications:

• Prior experience in an administrative or clerical position
• Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
• Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Education or experience in nutrition or dietary requirements
• Computer experience to include financial management software
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System

Preferred Qualifications:

• Understanding of the different requirements for the different types of diets
• Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
