Job summary

South Shore Health is seeking a part-time Diet Aide at our Weymouth, MA location to support patient meals and kitchen operations in the SSH Nutrition and Food Kitchen.

You will assist in meal preparation, tray setup, and serving, while following strict food handling, infection control, and safety guidelines. The role requires good English communication, basic arithmetic, and a customer-focused, team-oriented approach.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent preferred.
• Must be 16 years or older at the time of filing an application.
• Previous hospital experience preferred, but not required.
• Must be able to read, write and communicate routine information in English.
• Perform simple arithmetic functions.
• Ability to provide a high level of customer service.
• Ability to work independently and with peers.

Responsibilities

• General kitchen cleaning duties as dictated by the department need.
• Assists in preparing and serving meals, post meal service tray retrieval and cleaning duties.
• Ensures compliance with proper food handling techniques and safety guidelines.
• Assists tray line department with loading and transportation of food trucks during meal service.
• Serves patient meals and retrieves trays/dishes following meal service.
• Maintains clean kitchen and dining areas.
