Job summary

University of the Pacific is seeking a Dental Assistant specialized for the Special Care Clinic. Under the Clinic Manager, you will assist students and faculty in clinical patient care and coordinate hospital cases for the Special Care Clinic.

You will handle chairside duties, prepare the operating room, manage supplies, and ensure proper infection control and documentation, including preauthorizations and medical history. A California RDA license and CPR certification are required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of dental terminology and treatments.
• Dental insurance billing procedures.
• Chairside dental assisting in a hospital environment.
• Sterilization and infection control procedures.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating room, assist surgeon during operations, and pass instruments.
• Perform four-handed dentistry and chairside duties.
• Manage all instruments and supplies on the sterile field.
• Load/unload instruments, take and mount X-rays, and maintain equipment.
• Coordinate hospital paperwork, preauthorizations, and patient charts.
