UW Medical Center-Montlake Environmental Services has multiple employment opportunities for HOSPITAL CUSTODIANS.

WORK SCHEDULE

• 100% FTE (40 hours per week), Day shift, 7:00am-3:00pm (7:30am-4:00pm) - Rotating every other weekend.
• 60% FTE (24 hours per week), Day shift, 7:00am-3:00pm - Rotating every other weekend.

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

• Maintaining cleanliness and care of facilities in inpatient and non-patient areas and administrative offices as assigned.
• Cleans and disinfects all furniture, fixtures, and equipment according to procedure.
• Removes and properly handles soiled linen; disinfects and remakes beds in patient rooms; dust and wet mops hard floors with disinfectant.
• Performs bloodborne pathogen and chemical spill containment and clean-up according to procedure.
• Strips, cleans, buffs, and applies finish to floors. Uses high speed floor buffers, polishers, and automated floors scrubbers.
• Performs in between case cleaning and terminal cleaning of surgical, obstetrical, and invasive procedure rooms including flood mopping and disinfecting according to procedure.
• Vacuums and spot clean carpets; operates automated carpet shampooers and extractors.
• Performs cleaning activities in areas outside the facility using hand tools or small power equipment to remove snow or debris, and sweep sidewalks or stairs.
• Complies with safety policies and procedures and medical center emergency and disaster procedures.
