Job summary

Kindred Hospital Los Angeles is seeking a Culinary Assistant to prepare and serve patient meals and staff meals in accordance with safety standards.

You will follow department recipes, manage food temperatures, label and store supplies, and help maintain a clean, organized kitchen while supporting compliance with FDA guidelines.

A High School Diploma is preferred and one year of hospital or food-service experience is expected; English fluency is required.

Qualifications

• Must read, write and speak fluent English.
• One year experience in quality food preparation setting.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and city food codes and regulations.
• Ability to follow department recipes and menus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve food following department recipes and menus.
• Ensure proper food temperatures per FDA Food Code.
• Label and store food with proper dating and cooling techniques.
• Assist in receiving, storing, and verifying invoices for supplies.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and comply with sanitation policies.
• Assist in menu management and patient tray assembly using the computerized program.
