Job summary

Advocate Sherman Hospital is hiring for a full-time Food Service position in Food and Nutrition. The role supports patient meal service, cafe, and catering operations, ensuring items are prepared safely and to standard recipes. Expect rotating weekend duties and shifts from 11:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of food preparation experience; hospital food service experience preferred.
• Sanitation certification within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Ensure hot and cold menu items are prepared according to production and safety standards.
• Notify and document deviations in production; suggest solutions.
• Follow standardized recipes for quality and quantity across meal programs.
• Adhere to food safety standards and properly document temperatures, labeling, and rotation.
• Maintain production standards for time schedules and waste management.
• Perform in all areas of hot production including trayline, cafe, grill, and catering.
• Demonstrate safety and sanitation practices and communicate clearly.
