Job summary

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Cook for our Edgewood Nutrition Services Team. Shift/Hours: Full Time 40 Hours, Second Shift.

Schedule: Every other weekend rotation. Prepares food for patients, staff, and catered meals in a safe and sanitary manner, using standardized recipes and proper portioning. Responsibilities include production, service, kitchen safety, food safety, cleanliness, and adherence to all regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to read with comprehension and follow written and verbal instructions.
• 12 months in food service preparation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food for patients, staff, and catered meals following recipes and portioning.
• Utilize basic cooking techniques to prepare items according to recipes and standards.
• Read and prepare food orders in a timely and accurate manner; portion and garnish as required.
• Maintain kitchen safety by monitoring equipment and reporting needs.
• Monitor temperatures, label, rotate and store all food items per policy.
• Keep a clean and sanitary work area and equipment.
• Assist with performance improvement studies and quality initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
