Job summary

Southridge Behavioral Hospital in Grand Rapids, MI, seeks a Cook for its Dietary Department on a flexible per diem basis. The role requires experience in scratch cooking and the ability to follow oral and written instructions to operate food service equipment.

Weekend shifts run 6am–6:30pm, with at least one weekend per month preferred. High School Diploma is required; prior institutional kitchen experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• Experience as a cook or cook’s aide in an institutional setting preferred.
• Experience with scratch cooking required.
• Must follow oral and written instructions to operate food service equipment.
• Must complete assigned tasks to provide a safe, sanitary, attractive and orderly facility.

Southridge Behavioral Hospital is a beautiful and new state-of-the-art facility. As a joint venture with the Trinity Health System and Universal Health Services, we serve up to 96 adult and geriatric patients across four units.

The Cook is responsible for safely preparing, cooking and presenting meals according to hospital recipe and menu for patients, staff and visitors. Experience in scratch cooking is required.

Flexible Per Diem hours. An ideal candidate would be able to do at least one weekend a month. Weekend shifts are 6am to 6:30pm.

Qualifications

Cook, Dietary Department Job Requirements:
