Job summary

El Camino Health is seeking a Cook to prepare and serve meals for patients, cafeterias and catering services. You will maintain accurate menus, ensure proper portion control and eye-appealing presentation while complying with Food Safety and HACCP standards.

The role involves developing recipes and menus, presenting high-quality dishes, and monitoring food quality to sustain top dining experiences for patients and staff.

Qualifications

• 3 years of quantity cooking experience in healthcare or hospitality.
• AA Degree in hospitality or culinary institute certification preferred.
• Good math skills and ability to scale recipes.
• Ability to follow recipes in food preparation and serving.
• Demonstrated ability to accept responsibility and problem solving.
• Knowledge in advanced food preparation (slice, julienne, dice, batonnet, tourne) a plus.
• Knowledge in Buffet and Banquet Platters a plus.
• Demonstration cooking skills a plus.

Responsibilities

• Cook and serve food for patients, cafeteria and catering.
• Maintain menus with accuracy, consistency, eye appeal and proper portion control.
• Comply with Food Safety Code and HACCP standards.
• Be involved in the development of recipes, menus and food presentation.
• Monitor food quality standards to ensure consistency and highest quality standards of the El Camino Hospital food experience.
