Job summary

Arizona Spine and Joint Hospital is seeking a full time Cook to join our Dietary Team. The role involves preparing and serving meals according to cycle menus, coordinating meal service, and planning cooking schedules to meet meal times.

Responsibilities include portion control, preparing meals and snacks for patients, and monitoring food temperatures to ensure safety. Benefits and meals are provided in addition to competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Chef/Cook experience is required.
• Food Handlers or SafeServ Certification is required.
• CPR certification is available or training will be provided; not required to begin employment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals according to cycle menus; monitor methods of food handling, preparation, meal service and equipment cleaning.
• Coordinate food preparation and meal service.
• Plan and initiate cooking schedule for food preparation to meet meal schedule.
• Prepare, season, cook and serve meat, main dish, soup, vegetable, and dessert for assigned meal; ensure appropriate portions according to recipes.
• Prepare nutritional snacks for patients as directed by the Dietary Manager.
• Monitor temperature of hot and cold foods to ensure established temperature goals are met.
