Job summary

Avera St Benedict Hospital is seeking a Food Service Cook to prepare, cook, and serve meals for patients, staff, and visitors. You will follow approved menus and time schedules while upholding sanitation standards and quality.

The role emphasizes teamwork, compassionate service, and adherence to dietary procedures. Shifts include day/evening with weekend and holiday rotation; on-site work with a focus on patient care and a positive dining experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• ServSafe certificate preferred or upon hire.
• Less than 1 year food service education acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Prepares all food items for patients/residents, staff, cafeteria, and events.
• Meets standards for food preparation, quality, sanitation and efficiency.
• Delivers products according to the schedule for each item.
• Makes menu recommendations to supervisor.
• Performs daily cleaning as directed and maintains cleanliness.
• Delivers excellent customer service using approved scripts.
