Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Food Service worker for the Aurora Psychiatric Hospital - Food and Nutrition department. This full-time role requires 40 hours per week with AM and PM shifts, every other weekend and holidays. Benefits are eligible, with a pay range of $20.80 to $31.20 per hour.

Responsibilities include following recipes, preparing food, maintaining records, and ensuring food safety and proper storage. Requires ServSafe certification within 1 year and a High School diploma.

Qualifications

• Typical requirement is 3 years of experience in food production in settings such as a hotel, restaurant or high end institutional environment.
• ServSafe Food Handler certification required within 1 year.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Familiarity with diet restrictions and ability to adapt recipes accordingly.
• Proficient time management skills and strong interpersonal abilities.

Responsibilities

• Reviews production sheets and recipes to ensure quality and quantity.
• Prepares food daily according to guidelines and maintains records.
• Measures and mixes ingredients; uses kitchen equipment to prepare soups, salads, gravies, desserts, sauces and casseroles.
• Bakes, roasts, broils and steams meats and vegetables; carves and slices meats and cheeses.
• Garnishes, displays and serves food according to standards.
• Ensures proper storage and rotation of inventories; monitors temperatures for safety.
• Maintains department sanitation and temperature logs; controls waste and portioning.
