Job summary

Coastal Pines Behavioral Health in Saint Augustine, FL, seeks a full-time Cook to implement menus and coordinate food preparation and meal service in a new 144-bed behavioral health hospital near Jacksonville.

Under general direction, you will supervise kitchen staff, ensure cleanliness, inventory, and work with the dietitian to balance nutrition, while maintaining compliance with safety standards. Two years of institutional food service experience and ServSafe certification preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Additional education or training in culinary field preferred.
• Two or more years' experience in institutional food service preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cook and prepare food according to approved menus.
• Direct activities of workers who assist in preparing and serving meals.
• Clean and inspect equipment, kitchen appliances and work areas for cleanliness.
• Take inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Work with Dietitian to ensure menus are varied, nutritionally balanced and appetizing.
• Coordinate food production, cleaning, maintenance and inventory control.
• Ensure compliance with policies, quality standards, cost parameters and regulations.
