Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking a hospital kitchen cook to support high-volume food production for patients and staff. You will assemble salads, sandwiches, and hot menu items, following established recipes and safety guidelines.

The role emphasizes teamwork, adherence to sanitation standards, and timely service in a fast-paced environment. On-site with full-time hours, you will contribute to a culture of care and quality meals for the UT Southwestern community.

Qualifications

  • 1 year cooking experience preferably in high-volume environment.
  • Knowledge of standard cooking and sanitation methods and procedures.
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Completes and maintains all job performance requirements and standards as established by department procedures.
  • Prepares salads, sandwiches and hot menu items following production guides.
  • Supports teamwork and cooperation with co-workers in daily activities; provides feedback and participates in resolutions.
  • Interacts positively with patients, visitors, vendors and co-workers in all communications.
  • Maintains sanitation of work area and equipment; cleans and sanitizes at end of shift.
  • Keeps accurate temperature records and labels food items with dates.
