Job summary

Banner Health in Sterling, Colorado, is seeking a Cook to join the Culinary & Nutrition team at Sterling Medical Center. You will prepare fresh, hot foods for patients and staff, with prior grill cook experience a plus in a fast-paced hospital environment.

The position is full-time (40 hours/week) with shifts that can start as early as 5:30am and run through 8:00pm, including weekends and holidays. Weekend differential applies where applicable.

Qualifications

• Minimum one or more years of work experience in production cooking.
• Read and understand written and verbal instructions, follow policies and procedures.
• Ability to learn food handling regulations and pass certification tests as required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and cooks hot and cold food items using standardized recipes and production counts.
• May work in retail cafe grill area or cook breakfast items.
• Records over production and run outs; logs temperatures and reports issues.
• Maintains par levels and restocks items as needed; keeps work areas clean.
• May oversee scheduled shift for efficiency and assist other kitchen staff as needed.
