Job summary

Sodexo is hiring a Cook at the HCA Florida Ocala Hospital. You will prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and cold items for all meals and events, following Sodexo culinary standards for quality and safety.

In a fast-paced kitchen, you’ll ensure safe, accurate, and efficient food production, maintain a clean workstation, and support teamwork and sanitation. High school diploma and 0–2 years’ experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• 0 to 2 years of related work experience.
• Knowledge of basic operation of equipment and food-handling procedures preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Good working knowledge of food preparation.
• Familiarity with kitchen equipment.
• Must be able to read and follow a recipe unsupervised.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food in accordance with federal, state and corporate standards to provide high-quality service.
• Follow recipes and product directions for soups, meats, vegetables, and desserts.
• Estimate food requirements, check production, and keep records to plan production and requisition supplies.
• Significant walking or other mobility.
• Walk or stand for extended periods (up to 8+ hours).
• Lift up to 35 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
