Job summary

Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation in Saddle Brook, NJ is seeking a Hospital Cook to support patient and staff meals in a full-time role, including both weekday and weekend shifts.

You will prepare food for patients, staff and guests and assist with sanitation and safety policies, under the supervision of the Manager, contributing to a compassionate care environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of cooking experience.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Culinary Arts degree preferred.
  • Completion of a state or local food safety training course preferred.
  • Healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare food for patients, staff, and guests.
  • Assist with general cleaning of cooking and eating areas.
  • In absence of the Manager, supervise dietary staff and ensure policies are followed.
  • Maintain sanitation, safety, and infection control standards.
  • Show initiative to identify problems and implement solutions.

Compensation: $20.00 - $26.93 (Based on Experience) + Shift Differential

You will prepare food for patients, staff, and guests, and may assist with general cleaning of the cooking and eating areas. In the absence of the Manager, the Cook supervises the dietary staff, ensuring that our facility and departmental policies and procedures are adhered to, and that proper sanitation, safety, and infection control policies are being followed.

  • Cleaning and maintaining equipment to meet department standards.
  • Maintaining high standards of quality food production and portion control.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • One (1) year of cooking experience required

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Culinary Arts degree preferred
