Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital Quad Cities in Davenport, IA seeks a Chief Operating Officer to lead administrative directions across hospital departments within the Administrator In-Training program. This full-time role oversees clinical and non-clinical operations and drives efficiency in care delivery.

The COO will engage with the CEO, CNO, and hospital leadership to advance budget planning, policy implementation, and strategic initiatives while maintaining HIPAA and ethical standards.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree required.
• Three (3) years managerial experience in a healthcare institution.
• Specific management functions of finance, strategic planning, and community education of health programs.

Responsibilities

• Under general direction of the CEO, the COO oversees administrative direction, evaluation and coordination of hospital departments and ensures operating objectives align with hospital needs.
• Conducts daily rounds on the nursing floor, communicates with patients, families, staff and MDs, and collaborates with the CNO on patients and core clinical programs.
• Manages plans of correction related to internal and external surveys and maintains compliance with corporate clinical-quality initiatives.
• Focuses on employee engagement, participates in Employee Orientation, and conducts quarterly employee meetings.
• Creates and manages a culture focused on business development and customer service.
• Communicates policy recommendations to the CEO and implements new policies following administrative directives.
• Collaborates with CEO to establish and manage the Annual Operating Budget, Capital Budget and Strategic Plan.
• Maintains high ethical standards and ensures compliance with HIPAA and professional standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
