Actalent in San Bernardino, CA seeks a Clinical Laboratory Scientist to serve as a generalist in a fast-paced hospital laboratory, performing tests across hematology, microbiology, chemistry, and blood bank, with higher specialty loads during daytime hours and more general testing during evening and night shifts.

The role requires strong troubleshooting, QC, and the ability to support safe, timely patient care.

Qualifications

• Must have National CLS license.
• Minimum 1 year CLS experience in an acute hospital setting.
• Blood bank skills including antibody identification.
• Experience across hematology, microbiology, chemistry, and blood bank benches.
• Strong chemistry troubleshooting and analyzer maintenance.
• Experience using Cerner Millennium or similar LIMS.
• BLS certification from AHA.
• Able to work PM/NOC shifts, weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform full range of clinical lab tests as a generalist across multiple benches.
• Process and analyze diverse patient samples with varying volumes and priorities (PM/NOC).
• Conduct complex blood bank testing and immunohematology procedures.
• Troubleshoot analyzers and QC failures; document corrective actions.
• Ensure timely, accurate results and communicate critical values.
• Adhere to regulatory, accreditation, and hospital standards.
• Collaborate with scientists, lab assistants, and lead on bench.
