Job summary

Intermountain Health McKay-Dee Hospital is seeking a clinical pharmacist to deliver safe, cost-effective pharmaceutical care across central pharmacy and decentralized units. The role involves a mix of days, swings, and rotating weekends, with supervision of interns and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team.

The position emphasizes patient counseling, adherence promotion, regulatory compliance, and process improvement to enhance patient outcomes.

Qualifications

Doctor of Pharmacy or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited institution.
Licensed to practice pharmacy and dispense controlled substances.
Knowledge of state and federal pharmacy regulations.
Strong communication, leadership and project management skills.
Immunization certification if applicable to site needs.
Hospital pharmacy experience and sterile compounding are preferred.
Experience in an integrated healthcare delivery system and Board Certification preferred.
Health System Residency preferred.

Responsibilities

Reviews medication orders for allergies, interactions, and appropriateness; intervenes to optimize therapy.
Oversees medication preparation and ensures timely delivery in care areas.
Provides patient counseling and medication education; promotes adherence.
Ensures regulatory training and compliance with laws, policies, and SOPs.
Supervises interns, technicians, and staff; offers clinical consultation.
Identifies issues and implements solutions for equipment, staffing, and patient care.
Identifies process improvements to enhance patient satisfaction and safety.
Supports clinical, compliance, business operations, standardization, and customer service initiatives.
Supports local and enterprise pharmacy leadership initiatives.
