Job summary

Freeman Hospital in Newcastle upon Tyne is recruiting a Domestic Assistant to join Hotel Services. You will provide a high-quality cleaning service across clinical and non-clinical areas, supporting patient and staff environments while maintaining safety and infection control standards.

Qualifications

• Basic literacy and education as required.
• Infection control knowledge related to cleanliness.
• Health and safety awareness (COSHH).
• Good writing skills and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• To provide a high standard of cleaning within clinical and non-clinical areas reducing the risk of infections by following agreed work schedules, methods and procedures in accordance with the National Standards of Cleanliness.
• Operating cleaning equipment, machinery in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.
• Disposal of waste in accordance with the Trust Waste Policy.
• Accurate completion of all required documentation to support specific service processes , eg Terminal cleans.
