Job summary

Effinghamschools, Springfield, GA, seeks a Hospital Claims Analyst to manage timely filing of initial and secondary insurance claims and follow up on unpaid claims to maintain cash flow for the hospital and affiliated entities.

You will ensure HIPAA privacy, review UB-04 and 1500 forms, provide reporting on claims volume and savings, and collaborate with medical staff and departments to resolve denials and improve workflow.

Qualifications

• Two years billing/collection experience in the healthcare field.
• Formal training in claims processes and communication.
• Knowledge of patient privacy and HIPAA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Processes inpatient and outpatient medical claims timely according to standards.
• Assists in researching claim status to ensure billed dollars and aging are consistent with contracts.
• Performs follow up to resolve errors and findings from audits and improvement plans.
• Ensures claim validity by reviewing documents for completeness and accuracy.
• Reviews UB-04 and 1500 hospital billing formats and contracts.
