Job summary

GBMC HealthCare’s Gilchrist program seeks a Chaplain to provide interfaith spiritual care to patients and families. The role requires a Master’s in theology, four CPE units, and board certification within 18–24 months; endorsement by an ecclesiastical body is required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in theology, divinity, pastoral ministry or spirituality from an accredited institution; ordination verification acceptable.
• Four units of CPE; board certification within 18–24 months of hire.
• Endorsement from an ecclesiastical body or equivalent designation required.
• Flexibility for evening and weekend scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Provide spiritual care to patients, families, and staff; respond to referrals via pagers and triage.
• Assess spiritual needs and support coping with illness, trauma, and loss; visit patients daily.
• Deliver crisis intervention; participate in Code Blue as needed and document in EPIC.
• Lead worship, administer sacraments when appropriate, and attend multi-disciplinary rounds.
• Offer leadership training, supervise staff, and coordinate with Director of Spiritual Support Services.
