Qualifications

• Master's degree in Theology, Pastoral Care/Counseling, or Divinity.
• ACPE CPE: 4 units (1600 hours) in an accredited hospital center.
• Board Certified Chaplain APC within 24 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Maintains accurate documentation in patient charts regarding spiritual care interventions, plans, and outcomes.
• Advocates for patient rights in regard to spiritual, cultural, and psychosocial values impacting care.
• Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings and rounds; supports inter- and intra-departmental projects and committees.
• Provides education to patients and families about spiritual resources, advance directives, organ and tissue donation, ethics, and other spiritual issues.
• Participates in ritual, worship, and sacramental needs of patients, family and staff.
• Provides spiritual care to staff and serves as a professional spiritual care resource within the medical center.
