Job summary

You will perform order entry, inventory, billing, and ensure compliance with HIPAA and safety standards. Requires national certification and TN license; occasional coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• Must hold National Certification such as PTCB or NHA.
• Must hold TN Pharmacy Tech License.
• Experience handling unit dose medications and IV admixtures is preferred.
• Maintains accurate medication orders and records in HIPAA-compliant manner.

Responsibilities

• Provides assistance and performs technical pharmacy services under supervision of licensed pharmacist.
• Prepares unit dose medications and fills unit dose carts.
• Calculates, weighs and compounds ingredients to prepare non-sterile products.
• Prepares, labels and documents IV products.
• Uses aseptic techniques and laminar flow hood for sterile products.
• Packs, labels and sorts dosage forms for dispensing.
• Documents medication orders and posts charges.
• Delivers medication orders to patient care units.
• Maintains pharmacy records and inventory control.
• Performs order entry and uses computer systems to retrieve/store information.
