Job summary

JLL in Chicago is seeking a skilled Union Carpenter to support hospital operations through maintenance, repair, and construction work across a busy healthcare environment. You will repair doors, install hardware, and build containment structures in accordance with life safety and infection control standards.

This role requires a valid union apprenticeship, at least three years of healthcare carpentry experience, and the ability to read blueprints.

Qualifications

• Journeyman Carpenter status via union apprenticeship.
• Minimum 3 years of commercial, institutional, or healthcare carpentry experience.
• Experience in door and hardware repair and installation.
• Knowledge of healthcare infection control practices and containment construction.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Repair, adjust, maintain, and install hospital doors and frames.
• Construct, modify, maintain, and remove containment up to Level II.
• Perform rough and finish carpentry throughout the hospital campus.
• Follow hospital safety, infection control policies and OSHA regulations.
