Job summary

Indiana University Health is seeking a skilled maintenance technician at Bloomington Hospital to construct, install, and maintain building components including walls, doors, windows, ceilings, shelving and cabinetry. You will read blueprints and sketches, follow verbal instructions, and utilize power tools to measure, cut, level and install materials.

Responsibilities include basic layout, design, ordering and estimating, inventory management, and performing related duties as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's Degree in applicable discipline preferred.
• Journeyman's card or vocational training preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics and diagrams.
• Knowledge of OSHA and Joint Commission codes and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Construct, install and maintain general building construction and fittings (walls, doors, windows, ceilings, shelving, cabinetry).
• Read drawings and sketches; follow verbal instructions.
• Use power and hand tools to measure, saw, level, and nail materials.
• Perform basic layout, design, ordering and estimating of jobs.
• Maintain inventory stock and supplies.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
