Job summary

IU Health in Bloomington, IN is seeking a skilled Construction/Maintenance professional to construct, install, and maintain general building fittings. You will read blueprints and sketches, use a range of tools, and perform layout and estimating tasks to support hospital facilities.

Qualifications

• Journeyman's card or vocational training preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret information from blueprints, schematics and diagrams.
• Knowledge of basic construction methods.
• Familiarity with OSHA and Joint Commission codes and regulations.
• May be required to furnish own hand tools.
• Minimum of 2 years relevant experience.

Schedule: 7:00am- 3:30pm; Monday- Friday

Location: Bloomington Hospital

Responsibilities:

• Constructs, installs and maintains general building construction and fittings including but not limited to walls, doors, windows, ceilings, shelving and cabinetry.
• Works from woodworking or other engineering drawings and sketches, along with verbal instructions.
• Utilizes a wide variety of power and hand tools to measure, saw, level and nail building materials.
• Performs basic layout, design, ordering and estimating of jobs.
• Maintains inventory stock and supplies.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Journeyman's card or vocational training preferred.
• Requires knowledge of basic construction methods.
