Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a dedicated food service associate to prepare and serve meals to patients, staff and visitors. You will help with sanitation of equipment and service areas, operate registers, and assist with feeding patients and guests.

Responsibilities include proper food handling, portioning, maintaining stock, processing transactions, and keeping dish/pot rooms clean. The role requires basic math and computer skills and prior food service experience is preferred, with

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent qualification.
• Basic computer and math skills; ability to count money and make change.
• Experience in food services preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes proper food handling, portioning and food storage techniques according to standards/policies and regulatory guidelines.
• Maintains, assembles and stocks adequate levels of food items, products and supplies.
• Performs register duties required to process customers; communicates cafeteria menu, specials, and pricing.
• Performs dish room/pot room duties as assigned in a timely, organized manner to supply clean supplies as needed.
• Disposes of trash according to procedures; cleans and sanitizes containers to ensure sanitation guidelines.
• Maintains sanitation and safety standards according to departmental and regulatory agency requirements.
• Performs other duties as assigned and required.
