Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a seasoned food service supervisor to direct and monitor the preparation and distribution of meals across patient and cafeteria services. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and efficient operation within a hospital setting.

The position oversees daily workflow, coaching of staff, and menu planning while upholding food safety standards and regulatory requirements. HIPAA and confidentiality are integral to daily duties.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years in a food service role.
• Within 60 days of hire, obtain one of: ServSafe Food Protection Manager, County Health Department Certified Food Protection Manager, or National Registry of Food Safety Professionals Food Safety Manager.
• Preferred Associate's Degree in related field; healthcare setting experience; management experience.

Responsibilities

• Directs daily work flow of department to maintain productivity and to ensure that time schedules are met.
• Maintains food safety and sanitation standards according to departmental and regulatory agency requirements.
• Monitors the quality and attractiveness of food served to patients and/or cafeteria and special functions to assure that it meets departmental standards.
• Responds to and resolves customer/patient issues.
• Reconciles money, computes transactions, replenishes cash, and banks daily receipts.
• Assists in cafeteria menu and special event planning and execution.
• Perform other duties as assigned or required.
