Job summary

Summa Health in Akron, Ohio seeks a Cafeteria Cook to support hospital meal service at the Akron City Campus. Responsibilities include preparing, cooking, plating and serving meals for patients and visitors in bulk or portions, following standard practices.

The role is full-time (40 hours) with the ability to read and follow instructions, plus one year of cooking experience and compliance with food handling regulations.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to read and write English, follow written and oral instructions, perform basic mathematical functions and prioritize tasks
• One year of cooking and food preparation experience
• Ability to be on feet most of the day, lift/push/pull medium weights
• Knowledge of local, state and federal food handling regulations
• Ability to care for patients across age groups as required by position

Responsibilities

• Performs hospital food service duties related to preparation and cooking for patients and customers
• Prepares, cooks, plates and/or serves food in bulk or individual portions following standard practices
