Job summary

Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines is seeking a part-time cafe associate to manage daily coffee bar operations, serve customers, and maintain sanitary, well-stocked displays.

You will open/close, operate the cash register, prep hot and cold foods, and ensure compliance with food codes. Prior food service and barista training are preferred; high school diploma or GED encouraged; training required within 2 months.

Qualifications

• Pass barista training within 2 months of hire.
• High school diploma or GED preferred; ability to read and write.
• Restaurant or food service experience preferred.
• Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training within three months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Open and close duties.
• Operate cash register and handle money.
• Hot and cold food production for retail sales.
• Make coffee, juice and smoothies; clean beverage-dispensing machines.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work area and displays.
