Job summary

Wayne UNC Health Care in Wayne, NC, is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate and treat communication, swallowing, and cognitive disorders. The role includes documentation, patient and family counseling, and multidisciplinary collaboration. Onsite, day shift, 40 hours per week, with opportunities for teaching and supervision within the Speech Language Pathology unit.

New graduates will be considered. NC licensure or eligibility is required.

Qualifications

Knowledge of contemporary and evidence-based Speech Language Pathology practices
Ability to interpret clinician prescriptions and referrals
Ability to motivate, educate and encourage patients
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English
Proficient with MS Office and Epic EMR software with the ability to learn new software rapidly

Responsibilities

Reviews medical history and information from patients, caregivers and other professionals
Performs evaluations and plans a treatment plan with measurable goals
Completes documentation to meet regulatory requirements
Maintains accurate charges and schedules
Provides services and supervision for Rehab Services Technicians
Provides clinical instruction to students and in-service training to teammates
Participates in staff meetings and performance improvement activities
Demonstrates professional demeanor and compassionate patient care
