Job summary

Rose Brooks Center in Kansas City, MO, seeks a full-time Crisis Response Advocate to provide survivor-centered, trauma-informed crisis advocacy to survivors of domestic violence. The role is co-located at higher-volume hospitals to support the Bridge Program.

You will assist with safety planning, emergency orders, and victims’ compensation, connecting survivors to services with follow-up advocacy, while collaborating across agency programs to advance the mission.

Qualifications

• One year or more experience in a residential setting or crisis intervention role, serving diverse at-risk populations.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong time management and task-priority skills; flexible to changing needs.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, database systems, and other software.
• Must provide immunization proof or obtain blood test; annual flu vaccine required.
• Valid driver’s license and proof of liability insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provide survivor-centered, trauma-informed crisis advocacy to survivors of domestic violence.
• Assist with safety planning and Emergency Ex Parte Orders of Protection; support Crime Victims’ Compensation processes.
• Connect survivors to Rose Brooks Center services and community resources; follow-up advocacy.
• Support the Bridge Program and Lethality Assessment Program (LAP) and collaborate across programs and external systems.
